Peeking from the other side

Stood a little girl with wider eyes

Familiar was her looks,

kinder eyes and dimpled smiles,

Curiosity and confidence oozed from her

Seeking something, maybe dreams!

I looked back at her,

Confusion and chaos by my side,

My lips in frown

And a complete silence!

A spark lit somewhere in her

And with her the room was bright!

Conversations poured out from her

Touching the lives of those passerby’s

I desperately sought her spark

Alas, couldn’t get to the other side!

Her soul radiated happiness

while mine merely flickered

With the existence of my living.

The little girl now looked straight

Hopeful to glimpse a better me

I simply shook my head

Knowing the uncertainty of what lies ahead!

Yet she stood with all her might

Glimpsing herself from the next 30 years!

Reflecting a silence in her where once stood lots of conversations!
